Peru is one of the world’s top producers of gold and silver. It enjoys clear and robust mining regulations, relatively low production costs, and experienced local suppliers, while being highly receptive to foreign investment. Several majors are active in-country.
Overview
In 2024 Nativo formed a 50:50 JV in Peru with experienced local partners, Boku, for entry into precious metals mining. We have awo-fold strategy:
- Primary mining of gold and silver with production already initiated at Tesoro Gold Mine
- Cleaning of known tailings deposits containing gold and silver with a number of projects already identified
Boku Operation
Nativo has established the trading joint venture in Peru using a tax and legally optimised structure to ensure Nativo retains effective control of Boku and that funds can flow to its shareholders. Operationally, Boku will be led by Erick Pegot-Ogier as Managing Director, who will provide on-the-ground local expertise through logistics and project management. Nativo will not incur any project acquisition costs and will contribute the initial start-up and working capital necessary to achieve first production in Q4 2024.
